Ribbed Hat with a Stripe

Worsted weight yarn: Simply Soft - much less then a skein each color.
Size 8US needles

1. Cast on 96 stitches.
2. Work in single rib (k1, p1) for the entire hat.
3. Knit the first 10 rows with color A.
4. Knit the next 6 rows with color B.
5. Knit the next 23(small adult), 24(medium adult) or 25(large adult) rows.
6. Begin decrese: 
	row 1: *k1, p1 for 9 sts, k2tog, p1* around
	row 2: *k1, p1 for 8 sts, k2tog, p1...
	continue in pattern until there are 8 sts left. k2tog around.
7. Cut yarn with a 6 in tail and thread it through the 4 ramaining loops.  Pull tight.
